Holiday Cottages available to rent in Mortehoe, North Devon

The Old Vicarage is a Georgian house set in a walled garden in the charming coastal village of Mortehoe, North Devon. It is surrounded by exceptionally beautiful country and rugged coastline, and is moments from the huge beach and some of Devon’s best surfing at Woolcacombe.

The property itself is divided in to three – the Old Vicarage known as the Main house, and two adjoining cottages, Mailscot and Wykeham.

The Main house sleeps up to ten and each cottage four. They can be rented separately or together.

There is a beautiful garden, to which all properties have access. It is big enough for croquet, badminton and French cricket. There is a ping pong table and more in the garage…

We regret to say that the properties are not suitable for wheelchair access

The Main House

The Main House at the Old Vicarage sleeps 10. It has a large well equipped kitchen, a sitting room, and dining room, and full use of the lovely garden.

Wykeham Cottage

Mailscot sleeps 4 with an open plan sitting room, kitchen/dining room with a high ceiling. There is a fireplace with wood burning stove, and has its own garden.

Mailscot Cottage

Wykeham sleeps 4 and has an open plan sitting room, kitchen/dining room. There is a fireplace with a wood burning stove and has use of its own secluded garden.

Absolutely great. Good location. Very clean. Well equipped. Quiet.

Very cosy with the log burner. Maybe could do with another armchair downstairs, but this is only a very minor issue.

Overall the best cottage we have rented ever.

Absolutely perfect …

Happy Family

“We have previously stayed at Wykeham iat the Old Vicarge, it holds many special family memories and we have never been disappointed. But this time we thought we would try Mailscott, this is a tastefully furnished cottage, it’s not ultra modern but if you looking forward to coming back from long days out walking to a cosy comfortable, clean cottage with a wonderful log burner then this is for you.

The view from the full length windows in the living room cast light all over the openplan living area, and in return you get a lovely view of the garden and Mortehoe church beyond. This location provides excellent walking, whether it’s to Mortehoe which has a delicious fish and chip shop as well as 2 pubs, or Woolacombe taking in the magnificent views on the way down, or any of the other fabulous walks.

To get these great costalviews of this rugged coastline, you need to take into account steep climbs but so worth it. If you have dog then they wont be disappointed either, great walks, and they are even allowed on the beach, in certain areas, their also made very welcome in the pubs.

This is a real gem of a coastline and we come as often as we can but always to The Old Vicarage, well, if it feels right why change!!”
